Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau is an art style, which was popular between the latter half of 19th and early 20th centuries. Thanks to the advances in printing, such as colour lithography, the art didn't have to be confined only to galleries and salons. And as a result - visual arts flourished during this period. The main characteristics of Art Nouveau are asymmetry and the sense of dynamism. While in terms of theme, the style was dominated by depictions of women, often surrounded by floral motifs.
